A famous glacial lake, Roopkund is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. The main reason which make this lake famous is the skeleton of approx 500 humans that are found at the edge of the lake. It is said that the skeletons are of warriors who had fought here in ancient time of around 12th to 15th century. Talking about the splendid beauty of the trek, it is blessed with immense forests, wonderful campsites, captivating meadows and gurgling brooks. The route of the trek takes you to a fascinating journey through pristine majestic Himalayas and forests of oak and rhododendron.
